ACLS Provider Course

 

Cost:

2-day course for students taking ACLS for the first time
  • $370 for full 2-day course (Tax not included)
  • $335 for UBC Medical Students full 2-day course (Tax not included)
1-day course for students refreshing their ACLS skills (need to have completed last ACLS course within past 2 years)
  • $250 for recertification (Tax not included)

Course description:

ACLS is designed to help health care providers learn the necessary skills to provide evidence-based care to patients in cardiac arrest or other life-threatening situations. This course reinforces use of appropriate basic life support and automated external defibrillation, and then extends skills to advanced interventions.

Topics include:

  • Safe operation of defibrillator/pacing devices
  • Use of airway/respiratory equipment (oral/nasal airways, laryngeal mask airways, King LT, bag/valve/mask devices)
  • Management of cardiac arrest (VF/VT/PEA/asystole)
  • Management of stable and unstable tachyarrythmias
  • Management of bradycardias
  • Approach to unstable coronary syndrome/myocardial infarction
  • Initial management of acute stroke
  • Approach to patient with hypotension/shock
  • Crisis management principles (leadership, communication, situational awareness)

 

Pre-requisite: Current Healthcare practitioner and BLS/ CPR – C holder within past year
  • If your BLS for Healthcare Provider is not up to date, we will certifiy you for BLS HCP at not additional charge.
