BLS Interim Training – Part 2 – Skills (YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED BLS Part 1 - Virtual Cognitive prior to attending this course)

What is the "Skills" course

Individuals who completed the BLS Interim Training – Part 1 – Virtual Cognitive course will need to attend a BLS Interim Training – Part 2 – Skills course before their virtual cognitive certificate expires. The Part 2 course provides students with essential hands-on skills practice and skills testing necessary to support life-saving care during a cardiovascular emergency. A BLS Provider certificate valid for 1-year* is issued from the date of successful completion of the Part 2 course.

BLS Interim Training – Part 2 – Skills course covers:

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Ventilations using a barrier device and bag-mask
  • Relief of choking in a responsive infant
  • Multi-rescuer resuscitation
  • Team Dynamics


  • Reflects science of the most recent Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC
  • Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency
  • Emphasis on high-quality CPR including team dynamics

  • A current BLS Interim Training – Part 1 – Virtual Cognitive certificate
  • A Heart & Stroke BLS Blended Learning Class Pass
